Joji Hirota & The London Metropolitan Ensemble

The collaboration of Joji and the London Metropolitan Ensemble(LME) began with Joji's recent album 'The Gate(1999)', recorded at Real World Studios, followed by UK appearances including the WOMAD festival, Reading 2001. This album features an eclectic mix of emotional vocals interwoven with taiko drumming, shakuhachi and string quintet.
In 2002, Joji's Japan tour with LME is planned in September, following the release of Japanese version of "The Gate" in June, which includes new tracks on which LME performed.

The London Metropolitan Ensemble
The London Metropolitan Ensemble is formed from principals of the London Metropolitan Orchestra and has made numerous tours, festival appearances and radio and TV broadcasts since its inception in 1994. The group continues to be demanded for film and television soundtracks - excerpts of their performances of the Borodin and Ravel string quintets can be heard in the film `The Leading Man' starring Jon Bon Jovi, and they play Schubert and Debussy on the Inspector Morse album `The Essential Inspector Morse Collection'.
